Karachi, April 24 (PTI) Former Pakistan captain Salim Malik cannot be part of any cricketing activity in the country as he has not been able to provide information to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about some meetings in the UK. The country’s lower court, however, changed the verdict on life ban imposed on him due to match-fixing. A source in the PCB said that Malik has not yet responded to the notice issued to him in 2013, seeking information on the meetings he had held in 2000.

Karachi, April 24 (PTI) Former Pakistan captain Salim Malik cannot be part of any cricketing activity in the country as he has not been able to provide information to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about some meetings in the UK. The country’s lower court, however, changed the verdict on life ban imposed on him due to match-fixing. A source in the PCB said that Malik has not yet responded to the notice issued to him in 2013, seeking information about the meetings he had held since being banned in 2000. The source said on condition of anonymity, “Malik has not yet responded to that notice, so the PCB and ICC (International Cricket Council) are unwilling to give him a clear statement that any kind of cricket activity should be given to Malik Why not being allowed to participate in “He was banned by the board in 2000 and after that he had some meetings in the UK, which the ICC is aware of, which casts doubt on the motives of these meetings,” the source said. On Wednesday, Malik had requested the cricket administrators of the country to lift the life ban imposed on him due to match fixing so that he can fulfill his dream of coaching.
