New Zealand driver Scott McLaughlin was scheduled to leave for Indianapolis this month to make his debut in IndyCar racing, but he competed in the race and also recorded a win, sitting in Australia amid stalled sporting activities caused by the Corona virus.

Two-time champion McLaglin won the V8 Supercar in a virtual race held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Saturday. This is his second win in the IndyCar Racing Series virtual race.

McLaughlin later said, ‘This is unbelievable. Eventually everyone wanted to move forward. I thought we would come in third place but after that three cars were out and we won. ‘ Formula One driver Lando Norris also took part in this race.
