The batsmen around the world found it very difficult to face Shoaib Akhtar. It was not a matter of everyone to cope with their speed. During the World Cup in 2003, Akhtar was at the peak of his career. The Indian team continued their winning streak against the Pak team in the World Cup after beating Pakistan at Centurion.
Though Akhtar was initially attacked by Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, the bowler, known as Rawalpindi Express, bowed with great vigor. He also benefited from this and he also dismissed Sachin Tendulkar on a personal score of 98.
However, Kabir, the son of former cricketer Mohammad Kaif, feels that Shoaib Akhtar’s bowling is not as difficult to hit. Kaif’s son feels that batsman has the advantage of Akhtar’s speed and it becomes easy for him to hit fours.
Mohammad Kaif has shared a video on social media in which he has written why his son thinks it is not so difficult to hit Akhtar.
Due to Corona virus, all sports activities are closed at this time, so old matches are also being shown on TV. Kaif and his son are watching the match between India and Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup on TV.
Kaif tweeted- ‘Thank you, Kabir finally gets to see #INDvPAK’s historic contest. But Junior is not much impressed by his father. He thinks it will be easy to hit @ shoaib100mph because he has speed in his bowling. kids these days… !’
Akhtar has also given a funny answer on this. He replied on this tweet – ‘Then @MohammadKaif match ho Kabir and Mikail Ali Akhtar’s?’ He will get the answer regarding speed. Haha give me my love Mikail is the name of Shoaib’s son who was born in November 2016.
Mohammad Kaif played a key role in India’s six-wicket win. He added 102 runs with Sachin Tendulkar for the third wicket after Virender Sehwag (21) and Saurabh Ganguly (0) were dismissed.
Kaif had scored 35 off 60 balls in that match. After Kaif and Sachin were dismissed, Yuvraj Singh and Rahul Dravid added 99 runs to win the Indian team.
